A little about us...

We're a queer community space, events space and shop based in Cardiff - stocking over 18 local LGBT+ businesses.

Starting as a pop-up shop in June 2021, we've become one of South Wales most recognisable Queer brands. The best part - all profits go towards supporting LGBTQ+ community projects.

TIN led, managed and owned

Almost exclusively operated by trans / intersex / non binary community members, The Queer Emporium is a home for minority genders and strives to create an affirming safe space with needed events and workshops for the community.

Refreshments and food

Locally sourced, plant based and made by LGBTQ+ folks, our drinks and cakes are everything your homophobic Great Aunt would fear. Try our famous BisexualiTea (that changes colour) or The Camp Disco Diva (a rose and hibiscus lemonade with glitter).

Accessibility

Access to The Queer Emporium can be via our shop front entrance, which includes a step or via our side entrance, which is level with the ground. There is also a disabled toilet on site. You can find out how to get to us on the Find Us page.

Making a difference in our community

After our first year we surveyed you to find out what we're doing right, what we're doing wrong and what we can do better. We're pretty proud of the results which prove the positive impact organisations like ours can have on community.

50% Young People

At least 1 in 10 of our customers are under 18 and a further 40% are aged between 18 - 25.

97% Impact

97% of those surveyed said that The Queer Emporium has had a significant impact on the local LGBTQ+ community.

30% GNC

A huge amount of our base are non binary or gender non conforming.
