Who are we?
We are The Queer Emporium Ltd,
Registered at 2-4 Royal Arcade, St Mary’s Street, Cardiff, Wales, CF10 1AE.
What data do we collect?
We collect, store and process some personal information, to help process, and manage, your orders.
This information may include names, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, and IP addresses.
If you place an order, or create an account on our site, you may opt in to saving your name, email address and a randomised identifier, in cookies. These are for your convenience, so that you do not have to fill in your details again in future. These cookies will last for one year.
If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and any accessibility choices. Login cookies last for two days, and accessibility options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
Who do we share your data with?
Your personal data will be only ever be shared with our payment processor, Zettle, when you place an order with us.
This is to allow us to securely take payment, verify your identity, and to keep your financial details safe.
How long do we keep your data?
If you place an order with us, your data will be retained for up to one year.
This is to allow us to fulfill your order, and our own legal requirements under the GDPR.
For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile.
All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username).
Website administrators may also see and edit that information, if necessary.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have placed an order with us, you can request to receive an exported copy of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.
You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you, by contacting us.
This, however, does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
If you didn’t read all of that (I can’t blame you…), here’s a summary.
- We keep any information you give us for a maximum of one year, or forever if you make an account.
- We only ever share your info with Zettle, our payment processor.
- If you do make an account, you can delete it at any time.
- You can request a copy of your info, or request that we delete it, by emailing us. (or use our pigeons)
You can also delete them yourself, by clearing your browser history.
- Your standard rights under the GDPR and Data Protection law apply at all times.
