Cardiff Queer Comedy: WIPs & New Material Evenings

2026 has arrived and Cardiff Queer Comedy is getting a little revamp! Whilst we can't host events in the Arcade (because it is baltic), we've invited some incredible, brilliant, amazing queer comedians to come and perform for you INSIDE THE SHOP! It'll be an intimate set up, but perfect for comedians who will be sharing either:

• WIP (work-in-progress): a preview of material that will eventually become an hour long show, which are often taken to Edinburgh Fringe Festival
• New Material: a collection of comedians sharing shorter sets of new material, which may never have been tried in front of an audience before, to see if they work!

Which comedians? Well, we're keeping that a secret, but it you want to know, make sure to sign up to our mailing list! 

Previous comedians that have performed at The Queer Emporium include Sophie Duker, Sarah Keyworth, Jessica Fostekew, Christopher Hall, Sharon Wanjohi, Chloe Petts, Kemah Bob, Priya Hall, Leila Navabi, Morgan Rees and more! Who will be our first guest(s) for this new night? Well, you'll find out on the 21st February 2026!

Alcohol will be served at this event. This is a seated event. Loud sounds may feature as part of the performances.

Accessibility Information

This event will take place inside The Queer Emporium. Access to this can be gained via our shop front entrance, which includes a step or via our side entrance, which is level with the ground but please let us know in advance if you would like to use this one as it is often locked. There is also a disabled toilet on site.

The Queer Emporium is situated at the lower half of St. Mary's Street. There is a taxi rank diagonally across from the space and Uber cars are able to collect people from the Marriott Hotel, which is approximately 0.4 miles away. Here, many buses also stop to collect passengers and allow them to alight. Parking is available in St. David's Hall 2 and the John Lewis Car Park, both of which are approximately 0.2 miles from The Queer Emporium.
