In collaboration with our book stockist, Paned o Gê, we'll be welcoming Adam Zmith to The Queer Emporium to discuss his new book, Solemates: A History of Our Fetish for Feet!
Adam Zmith is a writer and podcast producer whose work explores the beats of our bodies, in the past, present and future. He is the author of Solemates: A History of Our Fetish for Feet (404 Ink, 2024) and Deep Sniff: A History of Poppers and Queer Futures (Repeater Books, 2021), which won the Polari First Book Prize in 2022. He co-wrote and co-produced Press Play, Turn On for Audible, which won Podcast of the Year at the British Podcast Awards 2024. He is a co-director of the podcast production company Aunt Nell, where he has worked on The Log Books (2018-21), Sing It Pink (2024) and The Quilt (2024). In 2022 he wrote and produced The Film We Can’t See podcast for the BBC. Adam is developing a new stage musical and co-writing a book that will be published by Faber.

Alcohol will be served at this event. This is a seated event. The contributors will using a sound system to amplify their input throughout the event, therefore loud sound and noise will be prevalent through the evening.
Accessibility Information
This event is situated inside The Queer Emporium itself. Access to this can be gained via our shop front entrance, which includes a step or via our side entrance, which is level with the ground but please let us know in advance if you would like to use this one as it is often locked. There is also a disabled toilet on site.
The Queer Emporium is situated at the lower half of St. Mary's Street. There is a taxi rank diagonally across from the space and Uber cars are able to collect people from the Marriott Hotel, which is approximately 0.4 miles away. Here, many buses also stop to collect passengers and allow them to alight. Parking is available in St. David's Hall 2 and the John Lewis Car Park, both of which are approximately 0.2 miles from The Queer Emporium.
